Christian Ferras (1933 –1982) was one of the greatest violinists in history. A winner of several international violin competitions, he pursued a successful career as soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras. He recorded several concertos for EMI and from 1964 for DG where he recorded the four main repertoire violin concertos, Brahms, Sibelius, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky, with Herbert von Karajan. This set, on DOREMI, contains first release ever of Ferras live performances.
