Plenty to get excited about here, first and foremost the sheer energy of Skrowaczewski's performance, or most of it...Where others make Brahms sound portly, Skrowaczewski works the fat back into the gleaming muscle...this is a marvellous performance, the crowning glory of Skrowaczewski's Brahms cycle, very well played and recorded.
