In 1983 Peter Seaborne moved to York University taking a doctorate in composition. During these student years he won two national prizes and was widely performed in the UK. However, disillusioned with much that was going on in the new music world, including some of his own compositional work, he abandoned writing for some 12 years. In 2001 a chance set of circumstances caused a sudden reawakening and there arrived a “new voice” resulting in a flood of new pieces, including concerti and other orchestral music, along with chamber, vocal and solo works.

This recording marks that turning point.
