About

Alan Feinberg’s “Basically Bull” is the first-ever performance of these works performed on a modern concert grand piano, in this case a Steinway Model D.

The music comes from the Elizabethan period (late 16th/early 17th centuries) and essentially represents the earliest virtuoso keyboard works written.

The virtuosic demands and deep passion of the music is astonishing. These are bold, adventurous, and pioneering works composed before the laws of tonality were codified.

Alan Feinberg has received four Grammy nominations and has been widely acclaimed for his musical versatility, stylistic breadth of repertoire, and innovative programming. This is his debut release on the Steinway & Sons label.
