Königskinder is very much an ensemble work, and it is indeed this aspect which is the main virtue of this recording...[Amanda Majeski] sings with great beauty of tone. Daniel Behle as the King’s Son also sings with great conviction...The real heroes of this performance however are the orchestra who play with great control and sensitivity under Sebastian Weigle.
Opera Now
it’s a beautiful work with some ravishing music...Weigle’s conducting is sensitive to both pacing the piece and accommodating his performers...Majeski has the most gorgeous lyric instrument, truly affecting...the supporting cast shows Frankfurt’s superb ensemble.
