About

sCORDAtura is an Italian concept that implies the tuning of strings in different combinations through which the instrument receives a special sound, rich in colours and resonant in certain tones. CORDA derives from a Latin term and means “string”. The viola da gambist and cellist Fernando Marín has specialised in bowed instruments of the Renaissance and Baroque periods.

His authenticity in creating the music even extends to using gut strings: on the baroque cello we see the use of the intestines of lamb and ram cleaned, twisted, dried and twisted by hand.
