Both works are marvellously played and beautifully recorded … the Quartet’s playing is breathtaking in terms of tonal blend, ensemble and intonation.

The Alban Berg concentrate on control and refinement occasionally at the expense of the passionate expression...Although these are well performed everything seems rather too buttoned up
