Although Wagner never seemed interested in the organ, organists, fascinated by his music from the very beginning, made the trip to Bayreuth. Loïc Mallié, who knows the Great Richard’s operas perfectly, offers us here his ephemeral – but perhaps also global and synthetic – vision of Wagner’s work, in an allusive, occasionally fugitive style. He approaches it through several leitmotivs, such as the one for love in Tristan (tracks 1, 10, 11); through scenes, like the funeral march in Siegfried (tracks 3 and 8) and the finale of Die Götterdämmerung (track 2); and through compositional discoveries, as in the Prelude to Tristan.
