Time and again I was impressed by exquistely shaded string-playing...Blaze sings with authority and agility when 'the refiner's fire' heats things up...Hushed strings and Brett Polegato's unaffected baritone are eloquently evocative of stillness in 'For behold'...even if the choruses do not quite offer a consistently memorable impact, this is one of the best-played recordings of Messiah.

Early Music Today

Jeanne Lamon unfailingly [draws] warm and mellifluous sounds from strings and wind, alike. It is unfussy, allowing the music to do its own persuading and is mainly complemented by affecting solo vocal and ripieno contributions.
