Serebrier performs both works with affection, shaping phrases caressingly and negotiating the many tempos changes with aplomb, and he gets a ready response from the excellent Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Right from the opening bars, the Third Symphony enjoys a warm blend of instrumental sonorities...what a rich trove of loveable ideas this symphony is and anyone learning the work from this recording will certainly enjoy its sunniest side. A good CD, the Sixth possibly the best performance so far in Serebrier's evolving Dvorak symphony cycle.

In particular, Serebrier's balance of the varying instrumental tapestries is well-nigh ideal: it is impossible to imagine a finer account of the work than this...the conductor's insight as a composer brings rich rewards. The recording quality is simply flawless

Researched, attentive and level-headed, Serebrier above all lets the composer do his stuff...he and the BSO are a pretty good team - the latter not at their very best here, but still excellent in places, especially in the brass and woodwind.

Serebrier keeps the triple time rhythms buoyant and alert [in the first movement of No. 6], never letting the textures muddy. This is seriously lovely stuff...The orchestral playing is beyond reproach – limpid wind solos and plenty of warmth in the lower string sound...This is very, very impressive.
