About
George Enescu shares with Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Busoni the misfortune of having been a very great virtuoso, both violinist and pianist, who has had to wait a long time before full justice is done to him as a composer. For their first disc, the three young members of the all-female Trio Brancusi present three piano trios by Enesco, including premiere recordings of the Trio in G minor and the Sérénade Lointaine.

In the larger trios the Brancusi audibly have the measure of the music and if they seem slightly more at home in the earlier G minor (they gave the UK premiere in london in March), their account of the A minor still compels attention. Heartily recommended.
