Re-released on Capriccio is a Passion Oratorio written by Scarlatti, one of his most mature compositions. Alongside this are two works by Alessandro Stradella; a Lamentation for Wednesday of Holy Week and a work written about the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, all of which are performed by La Stagione under Michael Schneider.

The performance is such that this reissue is welcome. The three soloists bring good interpretations, albeit a bit too restrained.
