About
In 1616 Burckhard Grossmann commissioned sixteen composers from Central Germany to write five part settings of Psalm 116. Among the sixteen were composers of church music including Schütz and Schein.
In 2010, the Calmus Ensemble revived this commission and requested two current day Central German composers, Berns Franke and Steffen Schleiermacher to do the same.
