About
Klára Würtz made her name through an international concert career, and her many recordings, including award-winners such as the Schumann Piano Works (“will be the finest complete Schumann to have been recorded by one pianist” Classics Today). Now she turns to the deceptively ‘simple’ world of the Schubert Impromptus: popular pieces often attempted by amateur pianists. She discovers a world of intense emotions, from peaceful beauty to tragic despair. Klára Würtz was nurtured in the rich musical environment of the Liszt Academy in Budapest in the 1970s and ‘80s, surrounded by such musical giants as Zoltán Kocsis, András Schiff and György Kurtág. She has toured the world, playing such famous venues as the Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall, conducted by Bernard Haitink, and Salzburg Festival.
