[Nilsson] is in generally good voice but is outmatched by Simionato, who is on excellent form, especially in the Judgement Scene, her tone even from top to bottom as she makes a last plea for Radames's love...Sanzogno upholds the tensions which seems to pervade so much of Aida. Not every scene, however, is on a grand scale, and Sanzogno realizes the intimacy of many duets.
