Don't expect the sweeping, veristic style of La Gioconda, however...The soloists are all excellent. Giuliano Sommerhalder's clear, open tone transcends the stereotype of the virtuoso trumpeter. He shapes the ornamental bits and the cantabiles alike with a natural-sounding flexibility
