Dating from 1520, Hachenbach’s manuscript is preserved in Cologne’s Schnügen Museum. It contains a large portion of the repertoire developed by Cologne’s Augustinian sisters since the 13th century but it is not known whether any of the music or poetry in the manuscript was written by Hachenbach herself or whether she was just the scribe. We hear the tonal splendour of the chants on this CD.
