The latest CD in this very successful series features two of the three ballets which were created for the Ballet Russes with a libretto by Boris Kochno and music by George Auric. Les Facheux was premiered in 1924 and Las Pastorale in 1926. La Pastorale marks an important moment in the history of ballet, being one of the first independent works in Balanchine’s important oeuvre.
