Johann Rosenmüller is regarded as one of the most important and influential masters of the period between Schütz and Bach. The present recording contains in greater part works from Rosenmüller’s Venetian residency [c.1657-1682]. During this period he developed an equally complex and unmistakable style in his extensive vocal and instrumental compositions that is presented in exemplary fashion in these recorded works.

I Fedeli specialises in the music of the 16th and 17th Centuries. Founded in 2006 by the cornettist Josué Meléndez, the goal of the ensemble is to present anew to the wider public exceptional cornetto repertoire in combination with other instruments.
