The Sonatas de Paris are divided into two books and each has a different character. Comellas began the series in early 1952 and they were finished in 1955. The first book is made up of short piano pieces in a neo-baroque style and follows the idea of a suite. The second is much freer in its structure. This CD also includes the vocal works Quadern de Cançons and Lirica Catalana Op.14.
