Awards and reviews
February 2011
Rilling's approach to this choral masterpiece is considered. He is clearly aware of Verdi's references to his ecclesiastical predecessors and use of traditional motifs associated with grief, while skilfully negotiating the work's trickier rhythmic moments. He takes due care of expression marks and shows a finely gradated approach to dynamics.
Awards Issue 2010
The choral work in the Sanctus and elsewhere is of a quality one has come to expect from Rilling's Stuttgart forces...Anke Vondung is the pick of Rilling's soloists.
