About

These days Fried is hardly known but in 1904 he became famous almost overnight with a monumental work “Trunkenes Lied”. Fried was a conductor and performed with leading orchestras. Mahler assigned the performance of his second symphony in Berlin to him. Transfigured Night was premiered in 1905. The Emigrants is a melodrama for speaking voice and orchestra.
