Once again Guild returns to the 1950s, following the success of the first collection (on Guild GLCD 5103) from this fascinating period of the music business. Light music still featured regularly in the list of new releases from many record companies, large and small, and names such as Nelson Riddle, Robert Farnon, Hugo Winterhalter and Ron Goodwin were familiar around the world. There were also some fine orchestras on the Continent of Europe, as this wide-ranging selection confirms.
