About
Reinhard Keiser was a talented opera composer and after the Hamburg Opera Theatre closed took up the post of “cantor cathedralis” at Hamburg cathedral and devoted himself to composing religious music. This work uses a very small orchestra, four part choir and soloists but Keiser develops an enormous dramatically tonal and melodic diversity, making the work seem more complex.
