These chants have been reconstructed from the manuscript Irmlogion of 1598, composed to mark the 100th anniversary of one of the biggest Orthodox monasteries, Suprasl Lavra. The attempt to reconstruct them and rediscover these ancient Russian chants could be regarded as a small contribution towards the general restoration of the lost art of ‘three part’ ‘angelic’ and truly Orthodox choir singing.
