About
Bartolomé de Selma y Salaverde was an Augustinian friar. His family were wind instrument makers and he was a virtuoso bassoonist. He worked in the court of Archduke Leopold of Austria and at other Princely courts. His works constitute practically the only surviving models of instrumental chamber music by Spanish composers in the 17th century.
