About

Mendelssohn’s arrangement of this work by Handel added flute, clarinet and horn parts without altering the structure of the composition. It could be said that he added the light, full sound colours of the early romantic period. McGegan is known throughout the world for performances that match authority with enthusiasm, scholarship with joy and curatorial responsibility with evangelical exuberance.

Recorded Hanover, 5th & 6th June 2009
