Fifteenth-century Venice is the setting for this early, one-act opera concerning Violanta's attempts to avenge the death of her sister by murdering Alfonso, the Prince of Naples. Eva Marton is perfect in the title role, with first-rate support from Walter Berry as her husband Simone and Siegfried Jerusalem as the unlucky Alfonso. Marek Janowski conducts the Münchner Rundfunkorchester.
