This CD marks the first of three volumes of Heinrich von Herzogenberg’s complete string quartets. The series will present interpretations by the Minguet Quartett and other chamber works by this long forgotten composer, whose works of this genre numbers among his finest achievements.

Volume 1 features Herzogenberg’s energetic String Quartet No. 5 Op. 63, his last contribution to the quartet genre and Piano Quintet Op. 17, performed by the Minguet Quartett and the pianist Oliver Triendl.
