About

David is regarded as the founder of musical exoticism and composed this work in 1844. It is a symphonic ode in three parts and embodies the ideas of the Order of Saint Simon which David was a member of. The Order was prosecuted and forbidden in France in 1832. The words are by the poet August Colin. The text is narrated in French.
