Ein Heldenleben, too, is pictorially evocative with a richly detailed response from the orchestra, notably the delectable contribution from violinist Radoslaw Szulc... the final climax of the work brings rapture - glorious string-playing in the great melody of apotheosis, an engaging cor anglais, a richly eloquent solo from the principal horn, and then that sonorous brass cadence which ends the work in a consummation of deeply satisfying finality.
