Around 1600 the composers of English music for viols followed a specific style known as lyra viol music. 18 printed sources as well as more than 50 manuscripts of lyra viol music have survived to the present day from the period 1601 to 1692. Hille Perl and Friederike Heumann have been playing as a duo since 1999 and bring their expertise and superb playing skills to these delicate and historic masterpieces.
