Inspired by the works of James Joyce, Rebecca Saunders (b 1967) composed all the pieces presented on this release from Kairos. “Choler” received its world premiere performance at The Huddersfield Music Festival in 2004. Conductor Hans Zender, well schooled in the music of this genre, masterfully conjures up the unique sound world of the composer.
