From Khachaturian’s shimmering and exotic youthful work, to Bartók’s energetic and virtuosic Contrasts, composed for Benny Goodman and Jószef Szigeti, to Stravinsky’s seldom-heard Suite for violin, clarinet and piano taken from his famous Soldier’s Tale, and ending with the much-loved Klezmer’s Wedding, full of Hebraic charm and humour, by the prolific Canadian composer Srul Irving Glick, this disc displays all the expressive capacities of this wonderful, colourful instrumental combination.
