About
Le Flem is, along with Cras and Ropartz, one of the Breton composers who have enjoyed a particular place of honour on the Timpani label. Le Flem is doubtless he who best embodied the Celtic soul: the sense of the supernatural and nostalgia.
This disc, released ten years ago, was a first in many regards: pairing Le Flem’s two major chamber works, it also brought a remarkable ensemble to the forefront with their first CD. The Louvigny Quartet, made up of soloists from the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, would later give us discs devoted to Cras, Gabriel Dupont, Jean Huré, Pierné...
Accompanying them, a pianist accustomed to these repertoires: Alain Jacquon.
