About

Charles Tournemire (1870-1939) found the inspiration for his work in the rite of the Roman Catholic Church and in Gregorian chant. A pupil of César Franck he regarded music that did not serve to glorify God as meaningless. These performances of organ compositions and sacred chant, some of which are premiere recordings, are superbly performed by Andreas Sieling on the Sauer Organ of Berlin Cathedral and by the Cathedral School Choir conducted by Tobias Brommann.
