This is a fitting tribute to the Buenos Aires born composer, Jorge Liderman, who died tragically in February this year. Liderman was a member of the composition faculty at the University of California, Berkeley and his works have been commissioned and performed by the London Sinfonietta, the American Composers Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic to name a few. Liderman's music is a powerful blend of hyper-intense rhythmic energy and brilliant orchestration. This disc features the composer's 30- minute Barcelonazo, an ebullient score which seeks to mirror the excitement and intensity of Barcelona as seen on a recent visit.
