For Plamena Mangova, 2007 was a red letter year. After achieving second place at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth piano competition, her first CD, recorded for Fuga Libera (Shostakovich, FUG517), was rewarded the Diapason d'Or 2007. Fuga Libera now present her second, much anticipated recital, devoted to Beethoven.
Revolving around the 'Appassionata' Sonata, the programme includes an irresistibly charming rarity: the Variations on La Stessa, Stessissima, based on the popular duet by Salieri, dedicated to Countess Babette von Keglevics.
