This was the first musical revue to celebrate all aspects of William Shakespeare and to star actors equally at home at The Globe as they were at The Palladium. Although the revue is about Shakespeare, it is never laden with Shakespeare, and remains pure comic entertainment from beginning to end and as such, proved to be one of the most popular and successful productions of The Royal Shakespeare Company. This all star cast revue appeals to the traditionalists and the populists, in that it very cleverly weaves real Shakespeare with other popular material "associated" with Shakespeare.
