On this CD Salvador Brotons conducts his own compositions. He is a prolific composer and a highly respected conductor. Included in his large output are works for orchestra, chamber groups and vocal music and he has been awarded over 15 prizes for composition in competitions around the world. Spanish by birth, Brotons is currently the chief conductor of the Vancouver (Washington) Symphony. Brotons draws on the Spanish landscape and poets for his inspiration which is reflected in the distinctive sound world he creates.
