For the third instalment in its survey of Scheidemann's organ works, Naxos has abandoned European baroque instruments and turned instead to a 1976 baroque-style organ at the Central Lutheran Church in Eugene, Oregon. The cover photo shows the instrument's case...The sound is good...the theme of the disc is variations on chorales and psalm tones, though there are also two improvisatory Praeambulum - demonstrates a composer with an amazing facility for inventive decoration. The Brazilian organist Julia Brown plays everything with the deftest of touches
