This recording was made shortly after Barry Tuckwell’s farewell concerts with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in January 1997.

Born in Australia, Tuckwell later became the principal horn with the London Symphony Orchestra for 13 years. During his distinguished musical career, which spans more than 50 years, Barry Tuckwell has appeared all over the world as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor. He has made over 40 recordings as horn soloist, and has received three Grammy nominations.
