The vocal approach to the three Leipzig cantatas here… is strict one to a part, in which the four soloists combine to provide the choral element. Complementing them is an instrument ensemble of eight violins, two violas, two cellos, violone, harpsichord, organ and bassoon with flutes and oboes as required. The performances, set alongside others of their kind, are polished, lively and for the main part enjoyable.
