What a splendid idea of Marc Minkowski's it was to create this 'imaginery' symphony, based on Rameau's theatre music. The result is a highly entertaining suite of dance movements, rather in the tradition of Beecham's Handel suites, but with somewhat more authentic orchestrations! What a distinctive and original composer Rameau was - highly recommended.
