Callas's characterization of Violetta had not fully reached maturity, but the fresh youthfulness of the voice more than compensates. All the singing is very characteristic...Albanese is a sympathetic Alfredo, especially in the closing act...Callas admirers will surely find this reissue worth having alone for Callas's very moving final scene
