Whether writing for quartet or children’s choir, Blackford’s take on oriental themes is often engaging. A shame that some of the playing is a little ragged. —

Martin Jones, whose playing is always fluent and musical, and whose nimble fingers can negotiate the most complicated passages. —

As usual, Nimbus’s aural perspective puts quite a lot of air around Jones’s piano, which is highly effective in this case where the emphasis is on atmosphere rather than brilliance. Warmly recommended. —
