Mike Westbrook
Born in 1936, Mike Westbrook was a pioneering British jazz composer, pianist, and bandleader known for bridging jazz with classical, theatre, and cabaret. A key figure in European jazz since the 1960s, he was renowned for leading large ensembles, including the Mike Westbrook Concert Band and the Uncommon Orchestra, often collaborating with his wife, vocalist Kate Westbrook.
