Pavol Breslik
Slovakian lyric tenor Pavol Breslik was born in 1979 and studied at the Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica and in Marseilles before becoming a member of the ensemble of Unter den Linden in Berlin in 2003, where his engagements included Ferrando, Tamino and Don Ottavio, Nemorino, and small roles in operas by Janacek and Mussorgsky. He came to international prominence in 2005 after being named ‘Most Promising Singer’ by the prestigious *Opernwelt* magazine, and major house debuts soon followed: Tamino at Covent Garden, Don Ottavio at the Metropolitan Opera and the Salzburg Festival (available on DVD on the Berliner Philharmoniker’s own label), and Nadir in The Pearl-Fishers[ at the Sydney Opera House.
