Alexandra WhittinghamGuitarist Alexandra Whittingham continues to build on her reputation as an intepreter of European classics (both guitar-native and otherwise) with her latest album Letters from Paris, released at the beginning of October.

It features a wide selection of works with a Parisian theme, from the immortal La vie en rose and Aznavour's She to arrangements of classical favourites by Satie, Chopin, Debussy and others - and sees Whittingham joined by the Carducci Quartet, Jess Gillam and others.

Earlier this month we were fortunate enough to have her give a miniature recital in our Leamington Spa store, with three works by the French guitarist and arranger Roland Dyens (one of which features on Letters from Paris itself).

Alexandra then sat down with Presto's Katherine Cooper to talk about her journey so far with the guitar, her dual career on YouTube, female guitarists she's admired and looked up to, and her friendship with saxophonist Jess Gillam.
