As if his recently-launched 1930s Violin Concerto project (Volume 1 available here) wasn't enoughto be getting on with, American violinist Gil Shaham is kicking off 2015 with one of the cornerstones of the baroque violin repertoire. He's taking JS Bach's six Sonatas and Partitas for Unaccompanied Violin on tour in the United States, in an innovative project incorporating original films by David Michalek; an audio recording is due out on Canary Classics in March.
